ABOUT CENTRAL AUTOMOTIVE Central Tune-Up Carburetor & Electric was first opened in 1976 as a small specialty electrical & fuel systems shop. Owner Robert Service started in the car repair business at age 16, became a master certified technician in 1980, and took over operations at Central Tune-up in 1984. Over the years the business has evolved and grown and become a full service facility with eight full time staff. New for 2006 Central Automotive Service Center will be our new company name. Everything remains the same except the name. The same talented staff, and the same great facility. Our name change says a lot about how the auto repair industry has changed. Tune-ups have been replaced by "Major Services", Carburetors have been replaced by "Fuel injection", and Electrical systems have become "Electronics". You can be assured that Central Automotive can handle the most modern systems. We continue to train and equip ourselves for today's newest vehicles. Central Automotive handles the service and repair for all makes & models of Domestic and Asian born cars, SUV's, and light trucks. Central Automotive is an AAA Approved Facility, and a California State Smog Test center. They are a great resource for the simplest needs like a fuse or a light bulb, up to the most major of repairs like complete engine and transmission replacements. The staff at Central Automotive is very experienced. All technicians and managers are ASE certified, and three are ASE Master certified. The shop is equipped to handle the newest and most technically challenging diagnostic work, and a wide variety of services including fuel injection, air conditioning, and antilock brake systems. Central Automotive provides an organized maintenance program based on regular oil & filter services for its customer's vehicles. They also have a "free" courtesy shuttle to help get you back home or off to work. All services come with a 24 month or 24,000 mile parts and labor guarantee. Central Automotive has received the coveted ASE Blue Shield designation in recognition of the high quality standards they maintain. Central Automotive is a Bay Area "Green Business" which recognizes their dedication to the environment.
